Hosted by Los Herederos co-founder Naomi Sturm, Documenting as Resistance is a talk-based radio program exploring everyday people and their connection to neighborhood culture. A natural outgrowth of the organization wide community archiving initiative by the same name, Documenting as Resistance activates material and discussion from the organization’s work in Diversity Plaza over the past several years. This February, we sit down with long time Jackson Height’s resident, sociologist and Associate Professor of Urban Studies at Queens College, Soniya Munshi. Join us for a conversation about creative use of the Plaza by different cultural communities and the often gendered experience of this urban public space.
